Estudiantes aprenderán cómo aplicar sus conocimientos de procesamiento de flores y crear diseños florales de lujo para una variedad de eventos y ocasiones especiales . You will learn how to take their knowledge of processing flowers and create luxury floral designs for a variety of events, special occasions, and statement pieces. Also, students will also design table-scapes using florals for the centerpieces. How to research and organize a step-by-step process to develop a concept and the scope of work needed to create a mood/inspiration board, design a concept, identify local resources and cost to build a luxury floral design. You will learn how to set up for a bridal show or trade-show to market their floral design services.

Most noteworthy, once completed, students will have the confidence and knowledge to execute a variety of luxury floral designs for both clients or employers. 6- Be creative! There’s nothing better than coming up with something different and unique.

7- Educate yourself before you become an educator. There is nothing worse than reading a book and thinking you can teach what takes years to master.

8- Build a great reputation because it will open so many doors and increase the credibility of your brand.

9- Pursue your own dreams. It is hard sometimes but when you reach it the satisfaction is indescribable

In order to sell the Wedding Planner Experience, wedding planners must listen first before you deliver it.

I can’t sell anything! If my client has not told me their vision or some key details of what they expect to have the day of their event. Listening is an art and a very powerful tool to sell the experience. I know what we are capable of doing, but how can I tell my client what they need if I don’t even know what their budget is or what they have dreamed all their life to have? This is their moment to shine and for you to get all that information in their brain that they have accumulated for so long. Let’s continue with The Wedding Planner Experience.

Listening

Listening helps you to start the conversation about what is possible for their event and as professionals. We should not interrupt our client while they are concentrated on painting the picture of their vision. They will get confused and end up getting what they never planned or wanted to get, which makes for a very unhappy customer.

After we listen that 80% of usual listening, then we have 20% to talk.

Wedding planners must show the prospective client that we respect their time.  And that we were paying attention while they were communicating their ideas. At this moment, we should also be taking notes on the most important remarks they make and when it is our turn to speak, we will review all the notes with them to make sure we all are on the same dream-page. Your prospective customer will be so appreciative of you paying attention to them because it shows the respect. You used their time in a positive and productive way. Also, doing so will showcase your professionalism and it is also a great opportunity to talk about a realistic budget. Then you can start working with in order to carry on to the next meeting. Wedding planners first consultation is not always to close the sale because it takes time and effort to put an amazing experience together. Therefore the second consultation is not a dream anymore because you already know what they want and what budget to work with. This will be the opportunity to close the sale because you already opened it and at this stage of the consultation the client is enthusiastic and looking forward to hearing what you have worked on and why you are the perfect company for their budget.

Budget

If for any reason they want more than their budget and it does not match their expectation and they insist on wanting everything for a minimum, you cannot concede because it will damage your business and brand. Be sincere and tell them in good terms that you will be happy to work with their budget and explain to them why their exaggerations are not doable. By doing this you will gain their trust because you did not promise something that you will not be able to deliver 100% on an unrealistic budget.

I have talked to some business owners and I am horrified with what some of them have said. They will do anything to be busy and others have said money is their priority, brand or not, which harms their profit in the long run. Some get trapped by clients promising that they will get referrals from this event because their event is going to have so many people that are going to have events and they will see your work and will hire you, among other empty promises.

Don’t believe in such fantasies and instead be realistic.

If you help one customer then the word will spread throughout their friends and/or community and everybody will come for that discount. Remember that wedding planners are just not selling services or products, they are selling themselves, their brand and an amazing experience.

You must also be mindful of different cultural experiences. Wherein negotiation is a crucial part of business dealings within different societies. Without being insensitive to their concerns, do not give in to professional negotiators.  That is sometimes brought in from within different cultural communities to discuss business on the customer’s behalf. Assure them that it is better to discuss these matters. Without any interference in order to achieve their dreams and dismiss any negotiators with civility and courtesy. This way, you do not cause any offense to your client. And assure them that you are truly a professional and will not cheat them out of their perfect day. I believe that anybody can put flowers, decor and other things together for an event. But when the guests arrive they will make it very clear how tacky and/or unenjoyable the experience actually is. No two events are the same and the same thinking goes for the budgets.

Therefore, the price will change when we customize what they want. I have heard people say that they want to get married on weekdays because the price is less. I never understood why. If they are having the same labor, same service same product, then they will have the same experience according to their budget. Remember, we get wherever their budget takes us. For example, if your clients have a birthday party. And they want the same experience as a $100,000 wedding then they must pay the same price. But if you will not charge, and provide that level of quality because you did not hear the word wedding. You are insulting them and yourself by giving them not only needless discounts but definitely a discounted experience.

If a wedding client wants one hundred orchids and the birthday client wants one hundred balloons. Then the price should be the difference. The only thing that will increase the price is if they will want delivering and setup tore down. In that case, then you must charge for this service separately.

For example, let’s talk about the industry I belong to. It looks so miserable when somebody wants to take advantage of our business because they don’t want to pay the right price but want the best service. Every time a prospective client meets with any vendor in this industry and sometimes beg or command to deliver beyond what their budget can buy, it makes the prospective client look embarrassing. If you just can’t afford something, just don’t think about it as an option. On the other hand, if you just don’t want to pay for the experience you must understand that every dream has a price tag that we must pay for if we want it to happen. Instead of looking miserable trying to negotiate, cut your guests list because the more guests you have means the more you will need to spend. It is so frustrating when we meet with people like this that want everything for nothing and we try to educate them and it seems like they do not listen. Wedding planner Bisli.

I have learned that when I want something and I know I can’t afford it, I put it on my wishlist until I can get it and if I still can’t buy it, I forget about it and buy what I can afford. It is the same in this industry especially if the prospective customer knows what their budget can buy. Remember, we go as far as your budget can take us and avoid frustrations before planning an event, hire a professional and experienced planner that has a great reputation for actual events. An experienced event planner can take all of that frustration away from you but remember when hiring a planner that we are not negotiators. Instead, we match your budget to the right services that can work within it without sacrificing the quality of your event and also help you to stay within your budget as much as possible. Do not expect free services or free products but instead make changes and listen to the professionals and what they recommend because if you have choices, then you can achieve the best parts of your dream. It is as simple as this: If you can’t afford it, you can’t have it all.

Sometimes, cultural differences with our clients create an atmosphere of negotiation and concessions we are not used to within our communities that they are. Do not concede and instead explain that they are getting absolute quality for the price. Ignore professional negotiators and work with the client directly, promising them that only you can really make their dreams come true, but only if they work with you instead of against you. Events do not happen overnight and to produce an event it takes sometimes over a year and some take months of planning and money. Next time when you have the idea of asking for discounts or needlessly negotiating, think twice and think about how you would handle it if it happened to you. Think about how strange this would look with other professional services such as doctors, spas, lawyers and the like. You must pay the price tag set for the service you desire and that’s how it works.

You have choices.

And you can get these services at a lower price but you will not get exactly what you want. If you are getting married and have an amazing bridal dream for your special day, but find out that your budget doesn’t match your dream, you then decide to go with the cheaper option, only to find out you’ve been passed over in true quality for another event where their dreams are coming true and yours are not. You do not want this to happen to you! Next time, when you go out there to get a professional service and you can afford it, do not compromise in quality because you don’t want to pay for it. You can still have a great event without blowing your budget by renting instead of buying, replacing flowers for other decorative centerpieces and decor, getting a DJ package that goes with your budget instead of hiring a band, and so much more. In other words, replace the high ticket items for ones that will not bring frustration and despoilment and please, if you can’t still get closer to your vision, do not write negative reviews just to get your frustration out. Instead, be nice, listen and be realistic so you can enjoy your event and the professionals will do everything in their powers to make it so. Also, don’t be foolish and invite more guests last minute thinking your costs will not increase. These and other mistakes can cost you even more in the long run. Plan smart!

If you are a salesperson, then you must be very careful with how you do your job. You may lose it if you do not make your sales. Don’t let favoritism or sentimentalism affect your job. I believe that the most important role for us all in the special event industry should be an impartial and neutral one. Especially when it comes to referring specific services. Let the customer choose whoever they want as long as it doesn’t interfere with your business. By doing this, your client will have a better opportunity to choose. Also, not be pushed to go with whoever the seller likes. I know the client will always ask for advice.

I believe it is a good idea to give them at least three choices for every category. They can feel free to choose the one that they feel comfortable with, along with fitting their budget and style.  Preferred Exclusive Vendor Business.

It’s not right to use the same vendors all the time because there are so many great professionals that are capable of doing a great job. When you refer the same vendors, it doesn’t always mean they are the best at what they do. It’s just that the salesperson is comfortable working with them, maybe they are getting a percentage, or even it simply makes their job easier. Sometimes, however, the final experience is not pleasant for the client as it is for the salesperson. Many of these vendors are in several preferred vendor lists. Therefore they cannot refer all of the companies that refer them when they have an opportunity. This can really limit the amount and quality of events you can have and, salespeople, concentrate on increasing sales, not cutting them.

  1. Never touch or move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid.

  3. Ensure candles are securely anchored in the candelabras with no room to tip over.
  4. If the flame is larger than normal, replace the candle.
  5. Keep wicks trimmed and burn away from fabrics, walls, plastics or any flammable materials.
  6. Flowers and foliage should be away from the flame’s reach. Keep candles at least 12 inches from everything that can burn. With candelabras, use hurricane glass candle holders. Always use a candleholder specifically designed for candle use.
  7. The holder should be heat resistant, sturdy and large enough to contain any drippings or melted wax. Be sure the candleholder is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

  9. Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room.

  10. Consider using battery-operated or electric flameless candles.
  11. Extinguish candles after use.
  12. When blowing out a candle, hold your index finger in front of the flame and blow it. Air will flow around your finger, extinguish the candle from both sides. And prevent hot wax from spattering.
  13. Do not extinguish candles with water. The water can cause the hot wax to splatter and can cause glass containers to break.
  14. One of the safest ways to extinguish a candle is to use a candle snuffer, which helps prevent hot wax from spattering.
  15. Keep candles out of the reach of children.
  16. Do not seat any guest using medical oxygen next to a candle.
  17. Never use a candle for light when fueling equipment such as a lantern or kerosene heater.
  18. For Hindu ceremonies, most venues will welcome you to have a sacred fire in a mandap. You will need to obtain all necessary insurance, health and safety documents.
  19. When in doubt, whether it is safe or not, call your local fire department.

How to Develop a Design

Where to begin your project. First, let’s keep it simple. You just want to frame the bride and groom. Take into consideration the good and the bad. By framing them, they will lose some visual contact with their guests, so work on how to maximize their visual range. Framing them will ensure that their guests approach them from the front. That creates a great photo opportunity for themselves and their friends and family. The frames to use are Plexiglas, wood and metal decoration stands.
Begin to put it all together. The timeline for this project, sketch, the budget, color schemes, paint, wood, clamps, space, linen samples, flowers, lighting, silverware, Plexiglas, crystals, and candlelight holders.

A romantic decoration At The Veranda. Owned by the amazing Executive Chef Michael Bomberg. The Veranda is an indoor and outdoor venue with beautiful trees. In addition a very romantic courtyard, a lovely ceremony area, a large pavilion and many other areas for large or intimate events. (not to mention the state of the art in-house caterers, Spice Of Life unlike many others.

We enjoyed designing a very romantic gazebo that screams a wonderful vintage aesthetic everywhere.

To reflect the theme we used minimal flowers. An abundance of lace in three different shades of cream.  Along with a vintage-style chandelier in cream that was adorned with pearls, crystals, and roses in a vintage pink and cream.

The gazebo table was draped with lace in three different tones. Gathered and secured with different types of brooches in gold and decorated with pearls.

Complimenting the rest of the ambiance soft lights of the candles set the tone of the romantic vintage decor quite well, complimenting the rest of the ambiance.

Small bouquets of roses in cream and pink were attached to a few key areas in the gazebo.  In addition lace was also secured to the walls to achieve an asymmetrical look. The two of the gazebo’s windows were also decorated with two mini vintage chandeliers and battery operated candles.

We also arranged tall centerpieces using the same color scheme of roses. This time we added pink spray roses for texture. Also along with foliage to the centerpieces to continue with the theme. A tea set that included two teacups with saucers and a teapot to display the flowers was use on the sweetheart table. Destiny Bridal beautiful laced bridal gown was placed in between the table and the gazebo to unify the decor. The battery operated candles displayed throughout the area to add more romance to the event.

The first thing you will need to do is to take your time and work on the actual wedding budget. This includes everything you will want for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception (including all of the rentals), wedding dress and your honeymoon. If you don’t have any idea where to start as a majority of couples don’t, it will be smart to call a qualified wedding consultant or planner. Either one of them will help you to put together a realistic wedding budget.

Wedding planners are not designers, caterers, bartenders, or anything else as such. They are definitely the only ones that are qualified to help you save time while getting all of this information for you from the right professionals.

The first consultation with the wedding planner or consultant is to gather information needed. At the same time to give you an accurate wedding budget and at this moment you can also request a professional vendor list.
